Insurance and Liability Protection for Your Move
At Bright Line Moving, we understand that moving is a significant event that requires trust and security. That’s why we prioritize insurance and liability protection options to safeguard your belongings throughout the relocation process within the USA.

Federal regulations require interstate moving companies to offer two types of liability coverage:
- Released Value Protection: This basic coverage is provided at no additional cost but offers limited compensation. The mover’s liability is limited to 60 cents per pound per item. For example, if a 10-pound item is damaged, compensation would be $6, regardless of the item’s value.
- Full Value Protection: This comprehensive coverage requires an additional fee but protects the full replacement value of your lost or damaged goods. The mover will repair, replace, or reimburse the current market value of affected items.
Choosing the right insurance plan depends on the value of your possessions and your comfort level with risk. For highly valuable or delicate items, opting for Full Value Protection or purchasing third-party moving insurance is recommended.

It is important for customers to provide accurate inventories and notify movers about items of extraordinary value. Limiting liability may occur if you pack items yourself or fail to report damages promptly.

At Bright Line Moving, we ensure transparent communication regarding insurance, claims procedures, and coverage limits to make your move as smooth and worry-free as possible. Contact us to learn more about our liability options and how we protect your belongings every step of the way.
